Israel launches large-scale strike on Iran

In a retaliatory move against Iran's launch of more than 180 ballistic missiles into Israel earlier in the month, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted airstrikes on military targets throughout Iran. The IDF stated that the strikes were successful and that their objectives were achieved, without targeting Iranian oil or nuclear facilities.

Using over 100 combat aircraft launched from within Israel, the strikes hit 20 different locations and resulted in the deaths of several members of the Iranian military. The IDF targeted missile manufacturing facilities and surface-to-air missile arrays, aiming to restrict Iran's aerial capabilities and defend Israel's airspace.

The IDF emphasized that they only used "some" of their operational capabilities during the strikes on strategic assets deep within Iranian territory. Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman shared a video of Israeli fighter jets returning home after the mission, showcasing Israel's military superiority over Iran.

Experts noted that Iran downplaying the impact of the strikes may indicate a reluctance to escalate the conflict further. Satellite images provided by a senior research analyst showed the precise targeting of a military base in Tehran, suggesting the strikes achieved their intended goal of establishing deterrence.

The operation was described as the largest attack on Iran since the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s. The IDF's ability to operate in Iranian airspace with impunity sends a clear message to Iran about Israel's military and technology advantage.

Overall, the airstrikes on Iran by the IDF were executed with precision and achieved their strategic objectives. The situation highlights the ongoing tensions between the two nations and the complex dynamics of the Middle East region.
