Recently, Fox News has released exclusive footage from James Copenhaver, one of the victims critically wounded in the July 13 assassination attempt against former President Trump. The video shows a figure moving across the roof of the American Glass Research (AGR) building just minutes before gunfire erupted at Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Officials believe that the gunman, Thomas Crooks, began shooting with a collapsible AR-15-style rifle shortly after the figure was seen on the roof. Unfortunately, Crooks killed one individual, Corey Comperatore, a former fire chief, and critically wounded Copenhaver and another individual, David Dutch. Both victims were shot twice and are currently recovering from their injuries.
Copenhaver, who captured the footage, was not filming when he was shot and was discharged from the hospital on July 26. He sustained injuries to his arm and abdomen during the attack. The FBI has revealed that Crooks had researched previous assassinations and spent time in the area leading up to the event.
Law enforcement officials were aware of a suspicious person near the rally site before the shooting began and are still investigating Crooks' motive behind the attack. The FBI has disclosed details about Crooks' activities leading up to the shooting, including flying a drone near the rally site and spending time in the area on the day of the event.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and the FBI is working to determine the full extent of Crooks' actions and motives.
